The event, originally launched by Russell Simmons, recognizes hip-hop’s instrumental role in President Obama’s re-election. The “Lip Gloss” rapper joined Yo Yo in hitting the stage to pay tribute to Lifetime Achievement Award honoree MC Lyte.
