What started out as a social media shade war has morphed itself into a petition demanding Adidas-Reebok cut their endorsement ties with Teyana Taylor for posting a photoshopped image poking fun at Rihanna‘s battered and bruised face following her domestic abuse situation with Chris Brown as a Twitter background.
Teyana previously secured a deal to design footwear for Adidas Original. She released her first sneaker, the Harlem GLC, earlier this year. Her second highly-anticipated offering is reportedly due out in November.
Just like every single Black Twitter topic that is talked about all day and then forgotten the next, so was the Teyana Taylor / Rihanna tweef until the G.O.O.D. Music mascot called into Hot 97 radio station this morning to address the situation.
In response to where Rihanna’s attack came from: ”I don’t understand this either. I’ve been in the studio, minding my business, staying focused or whatever. And one day, which was yesterday, I randomly was on my Instagram page and I had heard that she made a video. I went to Twitter, someone sent me the video and I just thought it was really harsh.”
Placing blame on the Rihanna Navy: “I know her very well. Her fans allow and condone her behavior. She does this to everybody. It’s not always fun and games all of the time. You do it, you get away with it. You tried me. You clapped and I clapped back. That’s what that was. You didn’t think it would go as far as it did, but you can’t do that to everybody. Sometimes you’re going to bark up the wrong tree.”
It’s only Tuesday and the kids are already showing their complete ass on social media. Teyana Taylor took to Twitter today to let Rihanna know that she can save the internet shade because she is not here for it.
Last week, Pound Puppy (you know, the back up dancer for G.O.O.D. Music) posted a video to her Instagram account of her singing “Caught Up In The Rapture” by Anita Baker. Now we all know the sole contributor to Blue Ivy’s trust fund isn’t too fond of the Instagram concerts, just ask Ciara. So naturally she had her hairstylist recreate Teyana’s glorious clip.
Raven Symone stepped out in a number that gave off the vibe that she was moments away from leading an extended version of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” at Compound on Saturday night in Atlanta. She was accompanied to the all white bash by rumored girlfriend AzMarie Livingston. The androgynous model is striking as always — but her hair is giving premium Coach Buzzcut fever.
I rest my case. Doubt if she gives a shit though. Click through the gallery below to check out more than 25 flicks featuring Future, Letoya Luckett, Usher, Tyrese (fainting in the club jokes on deck), Larenz Tate, Teyana Taylor, Tahiry, Mike Will, Terrence J and more.
Speaking of home entertainment, Tumblr great Teyana Taylor has a supporting role in some terrible ass movie that belongs at the bottom of the DVD bin in Walmart called ‘The Love Section’ on Netflix. If you are in search of a drug-free way to fall asleep easier at night look it up. Otherwise, save yourself from that travesty and watch a real cinematic gem like ‘Just Another Girl On The I.R.T.’.

Kimberly Elise’s secret love child, Teyana Taylor, launched her Harlem GLC sneaker for Adidas to a packed house inside the Galleria Mall in Houston on Friday (February 15). during NBA All Star Weekend. G.O.O.D. Music comrades Big Sean and Pusha T joined her at the in-store event.
As a nod to her love for retro basketball sneakers, the unique shoe features an EQT mid foot strap, reminiscent of the adidas Equipment series from the ’90s. The bronze Italian leather snakeskin pattern kicks will carry a retail price of $140.00.
“Givenchy sounds like a fucking shitty ball player. Like a fucked up city in Spain. ‘Where are you going Michael?’ Givenchy,” Tyler The Creator joked with Pusha T while filming the music video for “Trouble On My Mind”.
But label loving entertainers and athletes can’t get enough of the French luxury brand — especially Riccardo Tisci’s graphic tees. It’s their polite way of saying “I spent your car note on this t-shirt because I can” with consideration to the common man.
