The Twitterverse and “Immature Media” blogosphere was buzzing today due to the release of Usher’s new single “Filing Papers” or “Papers” or whatever. Throwing shade at Tameka Foster Raymond Margeaux Taylor and blaming her for the disintegration of their marriage and his relationship with his mother seems to be the focus of the song.
The song itself doesn’t have any redeeming qualities due to the fact that it sounds like a B-side from Usher’s 2004 effort Confessions. His “playing it safe,” although it may gain massive airplay, doesn’t have him exploring new musical grounds or growing as an artist. He seems to be stuck back in 2004, and although Confessions was a huge success, to try to replicate both the sales and soundscape of that album will end up as an EPIC FAIL.
Hopefully, Mr. Hoover Vacuum Cleaner nose will prepare another, better single cause this one, if depending on my opinion and those given by my cohorts on Twitter, will fail.
If this single is any indication of the subject matter Usher is taking on for his new album, Raymond-v-Raymond, Margeaux Taylor is about to be thrown under the bus for the rest of 2009-early 2010.
