essence15 Celebs x Essence Music Festival

The Essence Music Festival wrapped up its 14th year on Sunday in the Louisiana Superdome. Many people made their way down to The Big Easy for the musical performances and free empowerment seminars.

The New Orleans based festival celebrates black music and culture and moved to Houston in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina smashed New Orleans. It returned in 2007, and organizers say “Essence is now re-establishing its place in the city.”

No one say nothin’ bad about the new Mrs. Jenkins #1 + Mrs. Jenkins #2! Uh-huh. Those are some good women.

Now class, I better not read any mean comments about Gabrielle Union or Sanaa Lathan after I post this entry. You people rip them to shreds every two seconds from their nose to the weave to the clothes to the shoes to the ashy ankles, and it’s not alright!

The ladies [pictured above with Amy Smart and Elizabeth Banks] attended the Rogan For Target debut at Barneys in New York City on Thursday. Zoe Saldana and Joy Bryant [along with that wonky wig of hers, but you better not say anything bad about that either] also made an appearance.

Stop tearing our people down and help build them up! And yes, I’m wagging my finger and rolling my neck at my computer screen “oh no you didn’t” style because I’m sick of it.
