
Johnny Gill’s current cell phone wallpaper, Los Angeles Dodger star Matt Kemp, exchanged his baseball cap for a hard hat to assist in demolishing a property to make room for two brand new Habitat for Humanity homes last Tuesday (April 24) in Lynwood, California.

“It puts a lot of things in perspective,” Kemp said about the humbling experience. “Growing up, I wasn’t the richest, we didn’t have the most money. My mom worked hard and she made it through and helped me with everything, but I recognize that there’s a lot of people out there who have been in worse situations than I’ve ever been in, so for someone living in a three-bedroom home with 13 people, I don’t know how to envision going through that growing up. So for a family like this to get their home, to get their chance, it’s good to be a part of something like this.”
