After a season full of stunts and shows, Nicki Minaj could be the next ‘American Idol’ judge to step down from the show following Randy Jackson’s announcement that he’s exiting the series after 12 seasons.
Us Weekly quotes an inside source saying, “It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back to ‘Idol.’ She’s okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway.”
Nicki, who made a purported $12 million on the gig, is reportedly shifting gears to focus her energy on recording her next album, touring and endorsements.
Speaking to reporters this week in advance of the Fox network’s presentation to advertisers, Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said that all of ‘Idol’s’ judges were welcome back, but that “everything at this point is on the table.”

Burn me at the stake if you must, but if I were being paid $10 million to sit on a judging panel I would show up bright, early and whistling “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” like a gleeful coon. I also would make it of the utmost importance to incorporate the ‘Men In Black’ dance for good measure. But my name isn’t Onika.
A hoodie and sunglasses wearing Nicki Minaj showed up nearly 15 minutes late to the first live show of ‘American Idol’ last night because she was stuck in traffic. Oh, as if.
Nicki Minaj and her interchangeable doll parts hit the pink carpet at a media event to promote her new affordable clothing and accessories collection for K-Mart at Fig & Olive in West Hollywood, California on Friday (March 1). What’s your verdict on her look?
Nicki Minaj waved farewell to 2012 at Pure Nightclub inside of Ceasar’s Palace on Monday (December 31) in Las Vegas. Not to be outdone, Lil’ Kim hosted a Cisco Toast And Midnight $100 Money Drop at the #878 Elks Lodge back home in Brooklyn. Stay mad while we count this paper.
Onika recently explained what drives her as an artist and explained why she loves being a new ‘American Idol’ judge. Watch the video below!
Nicki Minaj, pictured above last week at the Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show, took to her Twitter account on Monday night (November 26) to respond to recent remarks made by former ‘American Idol’ judge Steven Tyler about the new judges’ ability to nurture new talent.
“These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they’re in New York City, they’re scared to death. You’re not going to get the best [out of them]. If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield,” he told MTV. “Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying.”
Oxtails Onika was less diplomatic in her reaction, launching into a torrent of tweets that ended with her calling Tyler a racist.
