A new blog called Poor Michelle highlights all the times Destiny Child’s in-house purse watcher Michelle Williams received the short end of the voodoo stick. Of course, that infamous performance on 106 & Park made the cut. Roll that beautiful bean footage!
LeToya Luckett touched up her pout before striking a pose alongside Roc Nation artist Bridget Kelly at the Hennessy Very Special Brunch on Saturday (June 7) in New Orleans. The kitten nose is snatched and you will deal.
The former Destiny’s Child singer / wig crypt employee will showcase her acting chops opposite actor Christina Keyes in a romantic comedy called ‘Note To Self.’ The independent film, written by Keyes and directed by Trey Haley, is described as ‘Love and Basketball’ meets ‘Good Will Hunting.’
Don’t Tell Mathew Knowles
The film slated to be released later this year also stars Richard T. Jones, Jason Weaver (get to the money, that probation isn’t going to pay itself off), Eva Marcille, Valerie Pettiford and the Samuel L. Jackson of the bootleg scene — Clifton Powell.
Check out her chat with Armani Worrell at the American Black Film Festival about the upcoming film below.
Pin your stocking to the fireplace a little early!
If Mathew Knowles gets his way there will be two new Destiny’s Child albums coming your way this Christmas.
In his interview with Black Voices, Miss Tina’s ex-hubby brags about Music World being one of the top Gospel labels in the nation, what will be on the new Destiny’s Child album, and speaks on his high hopes that DC3 will reunite for a tour.
Let’s hope Michelle has been practicing the choreography during all of these off years.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Music World. What are your plans to ensure that you’ll be successful for years to come?
We have to be realistic. At Music World we got to shift our direction and certainly stay in music. We’ve grown our Music World Gospel to the fifth largest Gospel label in America. But again, even for the label, we got to partner up. It’s similar to what’s happening in corporate America back in the ’80s. You saw a lot of mergers and acquisitions. We have to be smart in who we can partner with to do it better. We still have our joint venture with Sony and in November we’re putting out two Destiny’s Child catalog records with new material. So we’re going to start doing strategic things like that.
Wig crypt employees that have been dismissed for the summer are making good on their promise to make voluntary contributions a top priority in their lives a close second to the hourly sterilization of Blue Ivy’s pacifiers.
Michelle Williams lent her voice to a worthy cause, performing at The Adrian Simone Foundation Benefit Concert at Montville High School in Montville, New Jersey last Friday (May 18).
While visiting family living in the area, the Destiny’s Child singer became aware of 19-year-old Lance Corporal Adrian Simone’s story of losing both legs in Afghanistan last August after encountering an Improvised Explosion Device (IED) and offered to help the hometown war hero. Funds raised from the concert will go towards his rehabilitation and accommodations at the Simone home.
Gold star for you, Seed of Verdine.
I try to abide by the Creole Code of Conduct as much as I possibly since the last thing I need is any bad blood between Mathew Knowles and myself but there will not be a prized yaki sighting today on my watch. I am sure you won’t have any problems finding adequate coverage of your highness here in the negroid blogosphere.
More flicks of Cousin Angie B!, Kizzy, Solange, and Michelle stepping out for Kelly’s 30th birthday in Beverly Hills on Monday after the jump.
In somber times as the present it’s nice to know that Rich of FourFour, who has been the Nettie to my Celie since 2005, can still make me smile with my heart.
I’m a little late to this one, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t touch on my favorite person on TV this week, soul singer Millie Jackson. Her life story took up an hour of TV One’s Unsung (basically my favorite show on TV now – did you see last week’s Full Force episode?!?). And what a story it was! She got her break by shit-talking some woman that was onstage at a concert she attended. She described her marriage to a bass player like this: “He was a decent cat, but he thought we were going to be Ike and Tina, and the record company didn’t sign Ike, it only signed Tina.” She gave Roxanne Shanté these words of advice: “You’ll be successful a lot longer for the nasty things that come out of your mouth than the nasty things you put in it.” She made fun of her own music, lamented her inability to pawn gold records and showed that at age 67, she’s still quite flexible (you can see that in the video above).
No one puts baby in a corner! By the powers vested in her latest sew-in, Michelle Williams will slow twerk for glory and pay as she participates in the UK dance competition show Strictly Come Dancing.
Digital Spy reports the singer, who is one of 14 celebrities competing in the new series, told BBC News that she has received good luck wishes from Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland via text.
“You know what, I would love, love, love for the girls to come over,” she said. “But we’ve been texting each other on our Blackberries back and forth, so I know I have their support in that area, in that way.”
Collegechick: Cinderella’s stepsisters decided to get together without her.
Fresh: Why are they so happy?
Collegechick: Michelle just happy to get a check. I wouldn’t be happy if I was Kelly. The baby brother is getting more money than she is. That’s cutting in on her allowance.
Fresh: Right along with Fantasia missing shows and shit messing up Teeny’s Game Stop money.
