“Crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, three cheeses, ranch dressing” aren’t just catchy lyrics from Mary J. Blige‘s last single to crack Billboard’s Top 40. They may be apart of her daily grind if she gets a part-time gig at Burger King in order to pay off her tax bill.

Uncle Sam has “understand estimate her intellgents” once again.

How Dreadful: Mary J. Blige’s Financial Troubles Continue

mjb1 How Dreadful: Mary J. Bliges Financial Troubles Continue

Uneasy lies the stomach that wears a Hermes belt.

Erase all of the times I have referred to Mary J. Blige as Willona Woods on this site from your memory since her current financial woes have turned her life into a two-part episode of ‘Good Times.’ It’s the Christian thing to do.

The 42-year-old singer has been hit with a $901,769.65 tax lien in the State of New Jersey, reports the Huffington Post.

She was sued in New York State Supreme Court earlier this month for allegedly defaulting on a $500k bank loan.

The “No More Drama” songstress — who owns an 18,000-square-foot mansion in Saddle River, NJ, and another $2.5 million house in the Palisades overlooking Manhattan — was also just hit with a $4,301 judgment for money she owed her Garden State landscaper, according to court documents.

mjb Quick Quotes: Mary J. Blige Responds To Recent Financial Rumors

The funds to keep Mary J. Blige‘s fine ass in Gucci and gold appear to be limited these days. Don’t ask for an Easter basket this year.

The former light of K-Ci’s life was slapped with a lawsuit last week for defaulting on a $500,000 loan. According the lawsuit filed by Bank of America in New York State Supreme Court, MJB took out the loan in 2005 and stopped making re-payments in June 2012.

The latest financial headache comes months after she was sued for defaulting on a $2.2 million loan she took out with husband Kendu Isaacs in November 2012. Signature Bank is seeking to recoup the original loan plus $58,000 in interest.

“There’s really nothing you can say about the negative things that are in the media about you,” she told Hip Hollywood on the red carpet at Vibe Media’s 20th anniversary celebration. “All you can do is keep pushing, keep your head up and just let people be people. [Let] haters hate and just do what you do. Use all of that to fuel you to do something better.”

Angela Bassett & Mary J. Blige: ‘Betty & Coretta’ Premiere

betty Angela Bassett & Mary J. Blige: Betty & Coretta Premiere

Angela Bassett and Mary J. Blige kept it chic while arriving at the red carpet release for their Lifetime Television original film ‘Betty & Coretta’ at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City on Monday night (January 28). The movies centers around the relationship between Dr. Betty Shabazz (Blige) and  Coretta Scott King (Bassett).

“We’ve seen, a number of times, the story of their husbands — and rightly so,” Bassett noted in a recent interview. “They were tremendous influences on our culture and our times and moving America forward. But the women — and people usually say ‘behind these men,’ but I say ‘married to these men,’ because I think they were equally as significant in their own right — very strong. Very forceful. They had their own opinions. It was a different time when they were married, in terms of a woman’s perceived place, but they were towers of thought and activism — and we get to see that.”

Malik Yoba portrays Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, while Lindsay Owen Pierre takes on the role of Malcolm X in the film. Ruby Dee appears on screen as a “historical witness” to narrate the story as someone familiar with the events in the lives of both women.
