As observed by Brook Lynn Carter on yesterday, Vibe magazine mocked reality television queens Kandi Buruss, Tamar Braxton, Evelyn Lozada and Chrissy Lampkin on the sly by branding them as ‘Role Models’ for the cover of its annual Sexy Issue.
While many of us enjoyed the complimentary kee kee kee and tipped our hats to the magazine (whether it left a good or bad taste in your mouth, their mission in getting people talking was definitely accomplished), not everybody was laughing. In recent weeks, ‘Love & Hip Hop’ castmates Kimbella and Yandy Smith have been going about business as usual, traveling to cities across the country for nights at the most prestige of SBCs (Sweaty Black Clubs). Hair done, nails done, everything big.
“It does sound sort of bad when you say it, but if you think about it . . it’s not like they’re on the dance floor busting it wide open,” writes In Flex We Trust contributor Marisa Mendez. “They’re getting paid to be there, they’re sat safely in the VIP with security and should any kind of fight break out . . . they can quickly be escorted out of harms way.”
