Promo Trail: Jennifer Hudson Visits The Weight Watchers NYC Center

As much as I openly stan for Jennifer Hudson those Weight Watchers commercials sends this fat kid running (well, speed walking) straight to the fridge. I wiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnn!

At a party for her new book, “I Got This: How I Changed My Ways And Lost What Weighed Me Down,” the Academy Award winner revealed to The Huffington Post that she turned down the starring role in Precious because it would have been too emotionally taxing at the time.

“I’m totally fine with my decision. I got my Oscar,” said Hudson, whose performance as Effie White in 2006’s “Dreamgirls” earned her the award for Best Supporting Actress. “I’m a firm believer that what is meant for you is meant for you, and that was clearly meant for Gabourey Sidibe. I adore her, she did an amazing job, and again I did not turn the role down because of the weight situation. I just felt the character was doing things, at least in my script that I got, that were places I did not want to go and not where I needed to go.”

Jacking For Posts: Weight Loss Ads — Sucking The Life Out Of Our Divas

Remember when singers just sang? Maybe they wrote a few songs too, or sold a perfume at the CVS, and perhaps acted in a few movies but nothing really overshadowed their singing and hopping around on stage? Those days are over, thanks to the need to have 5,6,7,8, 50-11 side hustles. It’s not enough to put out a good product. Nope, because folks just aren’t buying it anymore. We’re illegally downloading it, sharing it and watching the concert highlights on YouTube, all for free-99. It’s really hard out here for a diva, it would seem. Enter: the weight loss commercial. If you haven’t had a smash hit in years, you can lose some el-bees and #BAM, career’s back at 100 (or a good 85). Jennifer Hudson, Mariah Carey and, now, Janet Jackson have all discovered the formula.

Disobedient lace front notwithstanding (damn you and the ship you came here on) Jennifer Hudson looked great while posing for photographs while leaving the Crown Restaurant in New York City last week. A rep for the singer denies Star magazine’s recent reports that Hudson’s engagement to fiancé David Otunga has been called off due to “clashing over Jennifer’s career obsession, commitment issues and reluctance to have more children.”

“I can confirm that the story is not true,” the rep told E! Online.

When Bad Wigs Happen To Good People: Jennifer Hudson

jhudwig When Bad Wigs Happen To Good People: Jennifer Hudson

I’ve been trying to wish Jennifer Hudson’s affinity for absurdly dense lace fronts away to no success — and its really starting to piss me off. Her wigs have become a major distraction from her always beat mug and svelte figure. Leave that territory for Eddie Long to inhabit, boo! More pictures of the otherwise ultra fab singer/actress at the grand opening of the Jennifer Hudson Weight Watchers Center on Tuesday below.

Not before brandishing her Twitter Tech-9 first, though.

Comments made by Jennifer Hudson regarding her new body during an interview with the UK Mirror had fans of Beyonce and Rihanna seeing red over the weekend.

“All the fabulous clothes I can wear and get sent, I joke that I’m like a walking billboard now. But I won’t be taking my clothes off – no way at all. Beyonce and Rihanna can have that. I like to cover up more. I won’t do Playboy. Playboy can call, and wait. That’s just not me,” Hudson told writer Clemmie Moodie after performing at London’s Ivy Club last week.

Her comments were interpreted as anything but light-hearted to fans and they proceeded to flood Hudson’s timeline with a barrage of bullshit, prompting her to eventually tweet “I think [y'all] know me better than that. I love both Beyonce [and] Rihanna. I hate when people try to be messy. [Bey] and Ri know me better than that 2.”
