Essence magazine celebrated the achievements Oprah Winfrey, Alfre Woodard, Gabrielle Union, Mara Brock-Akil, Quvenzhané Wallis and Naomie Harris at its annual Black Women In Hollywood Awards Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday afternoon (February 21).

Gabrielle Union won’t sit here and listen to your lies. I said that in my best NeNe Leakes’ voice circa ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 4, by the way.
Quicker than you can type “how you get him is how you’ll lose him” in the comments section of a blog, the actress took to Twitter this afternoon to clap back at rumors that her man Dwyane Wade has been bedding one particular groupie while she is away.
Gabrielle Union and Savannah Brinson, fiance of LeBron James, slow bopped well into the night during the second annual Radio One Festival in Miami, Florida on Saturday (July 7).
The twosome, styled perfectly to combat the heat and humidity, checked out a line-up of urban acts including T.I., Melanie Fiona, Monica (who would later join them), Waka Flocka Flames, not-so Fat Joe, and others.
Check out more snapshots from around the event plus video of Gabrielle chatting it up about how boyfriend Dwyane Wade’s divorce effected her career below.
Gabrielle Union put her awesome figure on display in a skimpy white bikini on Miami Beach before watching boyfriend Dwyane Wade lead his Miami Heat to victory over the Boston Celtics on Monday (May 28). Also along for the sunny day at the shore was the future Mrs. Lebron James, friend Savannah Brinson.
The Neutrogena spokeswoman has made it her mission to educate people about skin cancer prevention. “As an African-American woman, culturally we have been told that we have natural protection against the sun, but we’re absolutely part of the one in five,” she explained while promoting the company’s new Choose Skin Health campaign.
“As I’ve gotten older, I’ve seen relatives’ moles change shape, and they think, ‘That’s cute — it’s like Janet Jackson!’ But it’s not cute — it’s called melanoma.”
Now would be a good time for Siohvaughn Wade to invest in a new roots box.
Actress Gabrielle Union has been tapped to star in ‘Single Black Female’, BET’s hour long pilot from Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, the husband-and-wife duo behind the cable network’s hit comedy series The Game.
Written by Brock Akil, ‘Single Black Female’ chronicles the work, family and social life of an Atlanta-based young African American woman responsible for hosting a 24-hour cable news network similar to Anderson Cooper 360.
