After an eight-year hiatus away from the spotlight (aside from the occasional performance), Dave Chappelle is co-headlining the Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, a 15-city tour presented by Funny or Die. He was welcomed to a standing ovation from the 14,000-plus comedy aficionados assembled at the Austin 360 Amphitheater in Austin, TX last night.
Crunkland’s favorite ATLien Big Boi’s spaceship hit a snag after landing at the 2011 Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival held at Golden Gate Park on Sunday in San Francisco.
“Unfortunately, Big Boi had to cancel his performance due to the fact that his DJ had a computer malfunction. They tried to fix it but it got too close to Erykah Badu’s set time and Big Boi wanted to respect that and his fans. Dave Chappelle was on hand to entertain the audience,” said Outside Lands publicist Ken Weinstein. “Big Boi and his team were the utmost professional given the technical difficulties at hand, we look forward to working with him in the future.”
Disappointed attendees were instead treated to a performance from comedian Dave Chappelle and a promise from General Patton that he would make up things up during his next trip out to The Yay Area.
