Just so that we’re clear, House Mother Kanye was always a ball room legend in his own mind.

While promoting his upcoming nine-show run at Radio City Music Hall, comedian Dave Chappelle visited by The Tonight Show to promote his upcoming nine-show run at Radio City Music Hall last week. During his appearance, Dave recalled stories about Prince and The Roots, but the highlight was when he detailed the first time he met HMK.

While making ‘The Chappelle Show’, a virtually unknown HMK was chilling with Dave,  Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, and Common listening to the newly-released ‘Black Album’ inside Dave’s studio. In the opening seconds of “Lucifer”, Hov says, “Kanyeezy, you’s a genius. You did it again!” At that point, Dave says, “Kanye stood up. First time he spoke all day, and he goes, ‘Stop the record! And rewind that.’

He was welcomed to a standing ovation from the 14,000-plus comedy aficionados assembled at the Austin 360 Amphitheater in Austin, TX last night.

Crunkland’s favorite ATLien Big Boi’s spaceship hit a snag after landing at the 2011 Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival held at Golden Gate Park on Sunday in San Francisco.

“Unfortunately, Big Boi had to cancel his performance due to the fact that his DJ had a computer malfunction. They tried to fix it but it got too close to Erykah Badu’s set time and Big Boi wanted to respect that and his fans. Dave Chappelle was on hand to entertain the audience,” said Outside Lands publicist Ken Weinstein. “Big Boi and his team were the utmost professional given the technical difficulties at hand, we look forward to working with him in the future.”

Disappointed attendees were instead treated to a performance from comedian Dave Chappelle and a promise from General Patton that he would make up things up during his next trip out to The Yay Area.
