Update #2 (8:41 p.m.)

TMZ has learned Rick Ross’ private jet made an emergency landing in Birmingham, Alabama, 2 hours ago, en route to his concert in Memphis and we found out he suffered another seizure.

It’s the second time today where a plane in which the rapper was a passenger made an emergency landing. We broke the story Rick suffered a seizure this morning on a Delta flight that returned to the Ft. Lauderdale airport.

Rick went to the hospital, was released, and then took off at 5:07 PM ET from Ft. Lauderdale to make his concert tonight in Memphis. But at 5:44 PM CDT, the plane was diverted and landed in Birmingham after Rick had a seizure on board. We’ve just confirmed with the hospital that Rick is in STABLE condition.

Rick Ross is unconscious and paramedics are desperately trying to resuscitate him.

Rick was on a flight going from Ft. Lauderdale to Memphis today, when the rapper lost consciousness. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing.

Emergency workers tell us the call came in at 12:55 PM ET … the caller reported a seizure.

Ross is currently on a gurney at the airport, and an eyewitness tells us EMT workers are administering CPR. Members of Rick’s entourage are standing by, some of them extremely emotionally upset.

It has been confirmed that Sean Kingston is in critical condition in a Miami Beach hospital after being injured in a serious jet skiing accident Sunday evening.

UPDATE! Sean Kingston has been stabilized, according to a statement made by his publicist.

According to Local10.com, the “Beautiful Girls” singer had a female passenger on board his watercraft when it crashed into a bridge around 6 PM local time.

We’re told both Kingston and his passenger were rescued from the water by a good Samaritan.

The Miami Fire Dept. responded to the scene and both Kingston and his female passenger were transported to nearby Jackson Memorial Hospital. We’re told Kingston’s injuries are so severe, he is being treated in the trauma ward.

We’re told at this moment, officials do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash. Kingston’s rep tells TMZ “Sean Kingston was in an accident today. No further details are available at the moment. He and his family thank everyone for the well-wishes.”

Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sean and the female passenger.

Authorities in Maryland are stepping up efforts to locate Phylicia Barnes, a 16-year-old North Carolina girl who disappeared while visiting relatives in Baltimore. But a local police official said the national media need to take note of the case.

“We are doing everything we can,” Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told AOL News, noting that more than 35 detectives are working on the case, as well as two teams from the FBI.

“We would really like the national outlets to help us out here, so if somebody sees her in Missouri, they are able to alert authorities quickly,” Guglielmi continued. “It has been incredibly frustrating for me. We’ve been pitching this since the 29th [and] have not gotten any traction. This case is no different than the Natalee Holloway case. The only difference is Phylicia is from North Carolina, she went missing in Baltimore and she is African-American.”

Guglielmi added, “I just think if we could get America just to see her picture — that is all we are asking — maybe that will lead detectives to a break and save this young lady’s life.”

Phylicia lives in Monroe, N.C., but was visiting relatives in Baltimore. She was last seen around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 28, when she left the apartment of her 27-year-old half-sister, Deena Barnes. According to relatives, Phylicia told her sister she was going shopping.

What happened to the teenager next remains a mystery, police said.

“Time is working against us,” Guglielmi said. “She has been missing 10 days. … This is not a runaway. We suspect some type of foul play. The question is, What kind of foul play?”

Investigators are preparing to examine video footage and process additional search warrants in the case, police said. (continue reading)

Lena Horne, the enchanting jazz singer and actress known for her plaintive signature song “Stormy Weather” and for her triumph over the bigotry that allowed her to entertain white audiences but not socialize with them, has died. She was 92.

Horne died Sunday at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, according to hospital spokeswoman Gloria Chin. Chin would not release any other details.

Horne, whose striking beauty and magnetic sex appeal often overshadowed her talent and artistry, was remarkably candid about the underlying reason for her success: “I was unique in that I was a kind of black that white people could accept,” she once said. “I was their daydream. I had the worst kind of acceptance because it was never for how great I was or what I contributed. It was because of the way I looked.” (The Associated Press)

NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor has been arrested for rape in New York, according to a report from WCBS-TV in New York City.

The former New York Giants linebacker was taken into custody early this morning by the Town of Ramapo police after being accused of raping someone in the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, north of New York City, WCBS said.

Ramapo Detective Lt. Brad Weidel told the AP that Taylor, 51, hadn’t been formally charged. He said charges will be filed when the police investigation is completed.

The Journal Newssays the alleged victim is a 15-year-old girl who was beaten. The Journal News also says it has learned Taylor will be charged with third-degree rape, which involves intercourse with a minor.

The station said a new conference is expected later today, where police will give more details.

Taylor’s troubled past includes repeated drug problems. He tested positive for cocaine in 1987 and in 1988 was suspended by the NFL for 30 days when he failed another test. (source)

The fiance of Kandi Burruss, a cast member on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” was killed Friday evening at a northwest Atlanta strip club, according to WSB Atlanta.

Burruss’ fiance, A.J. Jewell, died from a head injury sustained in a brawl at the Body Tap club, located at 1271 Marietta Blvd. Burruss’ publicist Lisa Nelson confirmed to WSB that the singer has been informed of the incident and said the family asked for privacy.

Police said it’s unclear what prompted the fight. No arrests have been made.

Nancy returned my phone call to her and shared some important and good news: Maia is in treatment. And she said that there is hope for Maia’s recovery but the prayers of “50,000,000″ people can make the difference, because Maia doesn’t like to stay in treatment, and her treatment involves drug withdrawal as well as treatment for her disorders.

Nancy was awestruck by the wonderful comments left on our site and by the general outpouring of support. She asked me to tell you that Maia’s disorders are exasperated and sent out of control by substance abuse. Pre-existing and early onset bi-polar, clinical depression and schizophrenia can be sent out of control by marijuana (the worst culprit), alcohol and of course, synthetic and street drugs.

Maintain your hope for Maia’s recovery. Nancy said, “She can use her beauty, talent, and celebrity for the good of others.”

Shenise Farrel, a British single mom, traveled to Panama for surgery to change the color of her eyes after reading about the procedure on the internet, under a heading “Life changing procedure and a vacation.” Farrell called the US number advertised in the New Color Iris company’s website linked to a Clinic in Panama city run by Dr. Delary Alberto Kahn, ophthalmic surgeon and inventor.

She withdrew her $10,000 savings to pay for the procedure and underwent five tests with opticians in the UK to check that she was suitable for the procedure. She had to pay a $3,000 deposit and provide proof of airfare and hotel.

She arrived in Panama in June. The operation consists of inserting a colored lens inside the eye over the iris and it’s not licensed in Europe. The company’s website claims the operation is patented in the US.

”The procedure was unpleasant and painful. I screamed out at one point. But it was over within ten minutes and I was taken back to my hotel with just some eye drops and told to buy my own painkillers,” Farrel said. For the next eight days her vision remained blurred, although the website says the blurriness would only last four days after the procedure. Back in England, her vision was still blurred and had developed a painful sensitivity to light. Four days later, Farrel went to the Western Eye Hospital in Paddington which immediately referred her to ophthalmic surgeon Dr. Ali Mearza at the Charing Cross Hospital.

“She could barely make out the top letter on the eye chart,’ he said. ‘We could have registered her as blind. There was no question but to remove the implants which in itself was quite a challenging procedure. I would strongly advise people not to undergo this process” Dr. Mearza said.

A spokesman for New Color Iris clinic said that while it sympathized with Miss Farrell, it has carried out more than 600 operations since 2002 with only a handful of complaints. ‘No procedure is perfect,’ he said. Farrell might develop cataracts in later life and is at increased risk of glaucoma. “To think I could have never been able to see my children again” said the single mother of three from Ealing, West London. SAD LIL’ MAMA FACE RATING [OUT OF 5]

DJ AM was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday. He was 36.

Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment,” reads a statement from AM’s rep. “The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time.”

Goldstein’s death comes almost a year after he survived a fiery Learjet crash on the runway of a South Carolina airport that claimed the lives of two other passengers and left him covered with second- and third-degree burns. Travis Barker, Goldstein’s frequent collaborator and partner in the hip-hop-rock duo TRV$DJAM, also survived the crash.

TMZ, citing a police source, reported that DJ AM (real name: Adam Goldstein) was found in his apartment at 5:20 p.m. ET on Friday. Citing “sources,” the site also claimed that prescription medication bottles had been found near his body. The site said that friends who had previously gone to check on Goldstein had received no response. When police broke in the door, they reportedly found Goldstein’s body.

Just hours after court documents were unsealed indicating that Michael Jackson had lethal levels of the drug propofol in his system, an unnamed law-enforcement official reportedly told that Jackson’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Los Angeles County coroner.

The coroner determined a fatal combination of drugs was given to Jackson hours before he died on June 25, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released, the AP reported. Forensic tests indicated that propofol acted with at least two sedatives to cause Jackson’s death, according to the official.

The court documents unsealed on Monday indicated that Jackson’s private physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, informed investigators he administered 25 milligrams of propofol to Jackson at 10:40 a.m. as the singer struggled to fall asleep after previously giving him the sedatives lorazepam and midazolam.

Murphy is currently under a manslaughter investigation by the LAPD, and the AP reported that Monday’s information is likely to increase the chances that criminal charges will be filed against Murray. [source]
