The nicest employee collecting shopping carts in the Publix parking lot, J. Cole, celebrated his 27 birthday in Las Vegas at Lavo Nightclub on Saturday night (January 28).
With friends and family in attendance, King Jermaine (copyright Kid Fury) got a head start on a weekend full of fun with an impromptu Big Apple performance at Webster Hall earlier within the week.
“When I put this shit out, I had niggas very close to my circle doubting me,” he told fans before performing his platinum radio smash single, ‘Work Out.’ “So six months later we platinum, gold album.”
“I think it’s great for him, because I’m sure it’s a dream of his. We grew up seeing Michael Jackson, and I’m sure he grew up seeing whatever moment stuck in his mind, so I know it’s great for him to do that,” mentor Jay-Z told MTV News in December following a press conference on Cole’s Best New Artist nomination for the 2012 Grammy Awards.
“I think he’s already won Best New Artist, to me. His journey is what I’m really excited about.”
