As much as I enjoy sharing a good cackle with your guys and dolls, the following is no laughing matter. It also would be tacky for me to go into detail about how I could see Tyler Perry working this into the plot of his next film project, so I am going to stop while I’m ahead.
Former NFL star Darren Sharper, suspected of raping nine women in five states, has turned himself in to Los Angeles authorities. Sharper made arrangements to surrender to Los Angeles police and did so without incident Thursday evening (February 27), a source tells CNN.
Arrest warrants had been issued in New Orleans for Sharper and an acquaintance for the alleged rapes of two women there last September. The Orleans Parish district attorney’s office said Sharper, 38, and Erik Nunez, 26, each face two counts of aggravated rape.
If convicted, the two men face a possible sentence of life in prison without parole. Last week, Sharper pleaded not guilty to the California charges, which included two counts of rape by use of drugs.
