You going to hell now! A Waco, Texas preacher has ignited a firestorm of controversy for enforcing a strict ban against hair weave for the women on the church’s leadership staff, saying that Beyonce’s favorite four letter word* creates a “false image” that is associated with women who have low self-esteem.
“Our black women are getting weaves trying to be something and someone they are not. Be real with yourself is all I’m saying,” Pastor A.J. Aamir told America Preachers online.
The Resurrecting Faith Church minister, who was raised in a strict Muslim household, adds that he’s tired of seeing female parishioners embrace a ramen noodles with hot dog slices only diet for four bundles of the finest Malaysian hair
tithe money can buy.
“Long hair don’t care. What kind of mess is that? I don’t want my members so focused on what’s on their heads and not in their heads . . . I lead a church where our members are struggling financially. I mean really struggling. Yet, a 26 year old mother in my church has a $300 weave on her head. No. I will not be quiet about this.”
As an active member of the congregation since 2005, I can proudly say that we have never had this type of issue at Bedside Baptist. What do you think about Passah Aamir’s policy? Sound off in the comments!
