La La Anthony took full advantage of the photo op privileges that come along with being a recognizable fixture at Madison Square Garden on Monday night (January 7).
It’s a good thing she got it out of the way since husband Carmelo Anthony had more on his mind than holding her purse following the game.
Carmelo Anthony couldn’t beat Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics on the court and instead was intent on settling a score in the bowels of Madison Square Garden.
Anthony, according to eyewitnesses interviewed by the Daily News, waited for Garnett near the Celtics bus following Boston’s emotionally charged 102-96 victory on Monday night.
A potentially volatile scene was defused by Garden security personnel, five New York City police officers and even Knicks coach Mike Woodson, who rushed to the scene unfolding near the Garden ramp and ordered Anthony to leave peacefully.
A source on the scene claimed that Garnett seemed somewhat surprised and confused by Anthony’s presence and acted as a peacemaker as Celtics security ushered the All-Star forward onto the bus.
With nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of the Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks game, Carmelo and Kevin Garnett got into a shouting match on the court. The heated argument resulted in both players being given technical fouls.
“Listen, heat of the battle, man. Guys go back and forth. He’s trying to get his team to go, I’m trying to get my team to go, both teams are colliding, not to mention that it’s the Knicks and the Celtics,” Garnett said in a post-game interview. “Just what it is, man.”
Word on the curb is that KG crossed the line by making comments about Melo’s family during their squabble, explaining why Carmelo wanted to put them paws on him.
