Every tongue shall confess: Omarion showing what being a hop, skip and jump away from something looks like in real time was one of the few highlights at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards. It was right up there with Childish Gambino’s cypher appearance in my book.
In a recent feature with Billboard, the Legendary House of Lemon Pepper’s on-call Lord of the Dance compares the musical maturation found on his upcoming free EP ‘Care Package’ to career defining albums from Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake.
“A lot of my fans are adults and have children and lives. It’s really interesting because they still come out and support, the fans that used to chase my car. I think they ready,” he says. “This is the real grown-up me. This is that age when Beyoncé had ‘Crazy in Love’ and Michael Jackson had ‘Thriller,’ when Justin Timberlake had ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds.’ I feel like I’m at that age. I can’t wait to display this new me.”
