I executed a flawless wall slide after hearing the whispers that popular Atlanta hairstylists Derek J and Lawrence Washington have been whipping wigs without proper cosmetology licenses in the state of Georgia. Jesus hold my marcel iron.

Speaking exclusively with celebrity blogger Michelle Brown of Straight From The A, Derek J responded to the rumors by confirming that he is indeed licensed in another state.

He also told me that he considers himself a “traveling stylist” due to the fact that he is often booked to travel around the world with his celebrity clientele.  That being said, if Derek was forced to be licensed in every state he did hair, he’d probably be training for decades.

While there is some truth to the story of him not be licensed (in the State of Georgia), Derek grew tired of the insinuations surrounding his craft and proceeded to get the Georgia licensing issue resolved months ago.

Lawrence on the other hand, who fell out of former “housewife” Sheree Whitfield’s good graces after her hair began to thin and shed under his care, has yet to respond.

However it’s true that he’s apparently barred from doing hair in the state of Georgia until March 31, 2014.

After learning that he was a current gossip item Derek J took to his Twitter account to share a screenshot of his application which has apparently been sitting in the same corner as Nicci Gilbert’s girdle for months.
