Island Dick is ready to explain his side of the story. Rohan Marley admits that although his relationship with Lauryn Hill was far from perfect, both parties have vowed to remain good parents and amicable for the sake of their five children. Good stuff.

In a recent interview with UK publication The Voice, the son of reggae legend Bob Marley reflected on their romantic relationship that lasted more than a decade.

“[Our relationship] is good as in . . . in terms of being a mother and father to our children, it’s good,” says Marley, who is now engaged to Brazilain supermodel Isabeli Fontana. “It’s not as perfect as one might want it to be. It’s just the way the road went.”

He added, “As a man, there are certain things I don’t accept, and it just so happened that I didn’t accept certain things [in the relationship].

“It doesn’t mean she’s [Hill] a bad person or I’m a bad person. It just didn’t work out.”

    It seems that Rohan and Lauryn fight because of the bullshit. It seems Rohan cheats on Lauryn and he sees it as the Caribbean way. 

    The stereotype is that Caribbean men have many children from other women and it’s their problem, not his. I think because Rohan is stuck in his Jamaican ways he sees Lauryn as a piece of pussy (and money) while he can get up and stand up and be jammin with woman who won’t cry. He underestimated that Lauryn is an American woman and she don’t play that shit and every little thing is not going to be all right. Like many people Lauryn wants one love to satisfy her soul, but Rohan loves to stir it up and stay jammin. It’s just fucked up.

    If you’re a good parent and have a good relationship with the other parent, why do you feel the need to speak out about it?  It shows through the children.  It feels like he needs some type of validation (or money from doing interviews) about this situation.
