Solange looked pretty damn good as she arrived at the 40/40 Club in Manhattan to attend a glamorous fundraiser for President Barack Obama hosted by sister Beyonce and brother-in-law Jay-Z on Tuesday night. The event raised more than $4 million for President Obama’s re-election campaign. Tickets for the event cost $40,000.
In her introduction of the President, Beyonce, wearing a red cocktail dress, reiterated her support of POTUS, telling donors she and her husband “believe in his vision.”
During the evening, Obama joked that he had a lot in common with Hov, telling the audience: “We both have daughters. And our wives are more popular than we are.” He turned to his host and added: ”So you know. So we’ve got a little bond there. It’s hard, but it’s OK.”
Obama also praised Beyonce, describing her as positive a role model to his daughters Sasha and Malia. ”She carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent,” he said.
The hip-hop power couple have long been supporters of Obama, playing at a tribute concert to the President in 2008 before he took his oath of office. Last week, Obama appeared in a video clip urging the crowd to go out and vote at Jay-Z’s Made In America festival in Philadelphia.
