With Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler both chunking the deuce to ‘American Idol’ (or being fired depending on who you ask) there has been plenty of speculation about who their replacements.

The High Priestess of Butterflies, Mariah Carey, was the rumored frontrunner for a judging position — until husband Nick Cannon was asked to comment.

He tells TMZ: “I don’t know if they can afford Mariah Carey. That’s a lot of money. If they gave J.Lo $20 million, they might have to double that! You never know, it’s one of things, she’s got an album coming out so there’s promotional stuff.”
