The Bad Boy Records curse continues as Day26 announced the demise of the group earlier today. The R&B group — previously scaled down to a quartet — who formed in 2007 through MTV’s Making the Band, founded themselves in the news just a few days ago when group member Brian Andrews didn’t get the memo he wasn’t in the group anymore.
Damaged Goods: Danity Kane
After the departure of Qwanell “Que” Mosley in 2009, the BET award-winning group really fell off the radar. Reportedly they have been working this year on a new album with the four remaining members entitled A New Day. It’s safe that say that disc won’t see the light of day.
Two words come to mind when one thinks about this break up – Danity Kane.
Like Day26, the pop girl group had so much potential, but never reached their full potential under the egotistic guidance of Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs. It is obvious that unlike Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne, Mr. Combs just can’t mentor new talent without overshadowing them with his 90s dance moves and played-out rap style.
The statement released by Bad Boy also said the remaining members would be focusing on releasing solo albums so Day26 stans can look forward to more classics like Willie Taylor‘s new single, “Instagram Ya Body.”
