Teairra Mari Responds To Critics, Defends Her Gold Digging Music

My how the mighty Teairra Mari has fallen. The former Princess of The Roc (before Rihanna) has gone from performing her Top 40 hit “Make Her Feel Good” to starring in C-List movies like ‘Lottery Ticket’ to now being known for . . . yeah.

The Detroit singer, who just released her mixtape ‘Unfinished Business,’ had a message for her haters who call her a gold digger when featured on Celebrity Sound Off.

In the interview below, Teairra discusses the controversy over her music only being for sideline chicks. The 24-year-old says she isn’t going to stop performing despite critics and is currently working on her new album ‘Sex on the Radio.’

The sad part is Teairra Mari that as the last 50 seconds of that interview shows she can actually sing. She is more than just a pretty face and the manufactured drama fans see her participate in on ‘Love & Hip Hop.’ Teairra has been wounded by the music industry, but she shouldn’t degrade her talent by simply giving us sex to sell records.

    To be honest if she wants to sell pussy pops for Gucci bags, that’s her business. No shame or shade toward sex workers. The problem I have with her is I think she’s doing one of two things: can’t admit she’s pro-pussy slinging OR isn’t really pro-pussy slinging but think that’s what everyone wants aka she’s selling her self short like Fresh said. 

    It’s true she can really sing but she needs to get her career together. If you gonna do hoe shit, commit to it. Everyone will take you seriously then but don’t backpedal like you’re above because you clearly aren’t lol!

    Speaking of, she needs a better sponsor if her anthems are about gold digging.

    In this day and age, all creative outlets need to learn business. 1: To manage their finances (Rihanna) and 2: Retain a respectable fanbase that will support your music FOREVER (Amerie) because these days people will download everything and you will not get a dime. So it doesn’t hurt if you want to be writer, actor, or musician, or in my case, an artist and learn some business skills. It saves you time and make you more aware that you don’t put out wack shit hoping people will buy it.
