Fantasia was moved to tears during her birthday concert in Trindad on Saturday (June 30). Hand her a Kleenex to wipe the snot away, Teeny.
The ‘American Idol’ winner left the crowd at the Ambassador Hotel in Port-of-Spain speechless as she wept while delivering her song “Even Angels.” According to one person in the audience, an extremely emotional Barrino told the crowd:
“This year, we lost Whitney Houston. They just wouldn’t leave her alone. They did not understand that she was only human.”
“We lose family, friends, all for the love of money,” she continued. “The only person who will never leave you is Jesus.”
Let the church say “Amen.” She also took a moment to give it up to the G-Man for being the source of her strength.
“No matter what you’ve been through, know that you can fly. I have to tell God thank you because he has blessed me. Just when I thought it was all over, he kept blessing me,” she told fans. “He’s always been there. I made it through because of God. Everything I went through is my testimony.”
Fantasia, who gave birth to a baby boy Dallas Xavier Barrino last December, is slated to hit the stage at the Essence Music Festival this week. Baby Dallas joins older sister Zion, 10.
Back in February, Tasia Mae displayed an outpour of grief while speaking about the struggles of being a celebrity in the wake of Whitney Houston’s death during a concert in Chicago.
“I understand what those artists go through. When they become superstars, they lose their family, they lose their old friends. Anybody’s that feels that they should be doing this and doing that and they just want to be regular people,” she tearfully explained. “So what happens is they start turning to other things. I promise you. Just to get away from folk.”
Continue to stay strong, Tasia Mae. We need you — I need you — in those bedazzled catsuits. Press rewind on Fantasia’s passionate moment from earlier this year below.
