It’s a battle of she said/he said between K. Michelle and Memphitz.
Last Monday, over one million viewers tuned in for the season premiere of ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta’ and watched singer K. Michelle recall tragic details of a abusive relationship with her former producer.
Although she never revealed her abuser’s name on the show, Twitter went ablaze wondering what industry woman-beater was she referring to.
Enter the husband of reality star Toya Wright from ‘Tiny & Toya’ fame (yes, we said fame), who would eventually break his silence later in the week, tweeting “As I was installing the Teeth, Titties & Ass you’re Flaunting, I forget to tell you about the Growing Nose,” along with an illustration of Pinocchio. Ouch.
The former A&R for Jive Records spoke out today for what he says will be his one and only interview with TT Torrez on iPower 92.1.
The Memphis native says when he met K. Michelle she had a voice from God and after signing her to a recording contract their relationship blossomed from professional to personal after late night sessions in the studio.
“I was very, very fond of K, but I wasn’t in love with her like she seemed to be in love with me,” he says. He also clarified that the two never lived together.
On the premiere episode, K. Michelle said she had a $2 million contract with Jive Records but the CEO of Do Work Enterprises dismisses her claims. “Unless you have a substantial amount of heat on you in the streets, it is far-fetched to say any new artist receives two million dollars on a deal,” Memphitz said, adding that her total deal was actually worth $500,000. He also deflected rumors that he used money from her contract to buy personal gifts for himself.

Memphitz revealed his relationship with the R&B singer took a wrong turn when she showed jealously toward any female artist he worked with and that it’s not the first time she has claimed to have been physically abused. “She says it whenever she think she has a stage to say it,” Memphitz scoffed.
When radio personality T.T. Torrez described an alleged incident where Memphitz put a pillow over K. Michelle’s face to prevent her from screaming in a hotel room, he quickly shot back replying, “That’s my first time hearing that one.”
He went on to say after embarrassing him plenty of times in front of business partners, the hotel incident was actually the night he decided to end their relationship.“That is last time you embarrass me. I’m done,” he recalls telling the aspiring singer. He went on to describe K. Michelle going “Tasmanian Devil” trying to attack him.
“Yes, I grabbed her and held her arms down from hitting my ass again and she was screaming. I covered her mouth because she was screaming so loud. All I did was restrain her.”
So what does new wife Toya, whom he just shared their one year anniversary with in Paris, think of all this drama? She knows who he really is, according to Memphitz. “Different women bring out different things in men because I can’t remember being with any girl that I argued with more than K. Michelle. She just would love to argue,” he says.
After apologizing for his tweet declaring, “I made you,” he still took ownership of creating her image.
“She was abused before, just it wasn’t by me. I can’t be your muse anymore. You want to argue with me so you can write a hit? You want to try and defame my character so you can get fans? I can’t lay down for that one.”
He also admitted dating another ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta’ cast member, Ariane. So, is there a chance that K. Michelle and Memphitz can clear the air?
“I’m not burying nothing with the devil,” he says. “I hope she gets help.”
Guess not . . .
