As a nod to the Sacred Lamb of Tribeca, Beyonce hinted at the inspiration behind daughter’s Blue Ivy Carter name by posting the poem ‘Field Guide to Getting Lost’ by Rebecca Solnit titled to her Tumblr. Girl, you so deep.
“The world is blue at its edges and in its depths. This blue is the light that got lost. Light at the blue end of the spectrum does not travel whole distance from the sun to us,” the poem begins.
According to a writer for The Atlantic Wire, Solnit sees value in cherishing the desire she associates with the color, instead of treating desire as “a problem to be solved.”
Or in other words, looking into the “blue of distance” without wanting the distance to go away. Now behold the lamb, indeed. Read the poem in its entirety inside.
