Photo of the Day: Destiny Jones Spends Time With Dad Nas

Destiny Jones hinted that her relationship with rapper dad Nas is back on the mend following mom Carmen Bryan‘s ire after hearing his new track “Daughters,” which makes mention of the time that the 17-year-old posted a photo of condoms on her Instagram account.

“I’m a mother first, and if Destiny is upset about something that makes me upset. I think he really didn’t realize how the song would affect Destiny,” Bryan tweeted on Thursday.

“He should have allowed her to hear if first. His short coming was humiliating her in public by rehashing the mistakes she has made via a song. Not right. Humiliate our children on wax for the mistakes that they make. Who does that? I didn’t hear anything positive in that song.”

She continued: “That song was created because he felt like he owed his listeners an explanation. Period. And I don’t. He doesn’t owe his fans an explanation with regard to what goes on with Destiny, she is his daughter not his artist. Period. That’s why he addressed. He cares what you guys think about him. That song was for YOU not Destiny.”

I agree with Carmen, his reasoning behind this is to look good for his fans…Or just people in general. He HAS to acknowledge his part in it above anything else. He wasn’t the ?strictest parent?” Not exactly sure what he means. Does that mean she would not have had sex? (kids these days are engaged in sexual intercourse) or wouldn’t have taken a picture of the condom-filled box? He wasn’t aroung period…Probably just passed through. Well, I shouldn’t assume, because I don’t know him personally. I doubt he’s been in her life as he should (and has confessed). I wonder if he’s a father to little Knight…I guess I will stop before I say anything else.

I didn’t dislike the song, but yeah, he should’ve run that by his daughter first. Although, she’s a minor, so techincally that falls on Nas and Carmen, which is sort of his point. Her parents have done a LOT of dirt. Honestly, she seems to have come out relatively unscathed thus far. Here’s praying.

This coming from the same woman who penned a book about her affair with Jay-Z, a sloppy highly-publicized and rapped about affair. What about all of THAT noise Carmen? Or that doesn’t count, just what Nas does now? IMO the song shows his growth as an artist. he’s reflective of his own mistakes and questioning himself as a father. Carmen probably just has another book coming out soon. “It’s No Secret: Part II”

I like it. Sistah sounded like she has some sense. Nas did not come off looking good at the end of this one.
