Thomas Beatie, who became famous in 2007 as the first female-to-male transgender to give birth, has separated from his wife of nine years, according to People magazine. Beatie revealed the split during a taping of the syndicated television show ‘The Doctors.’

If they couldn’t make it there’s no hope for the rest of us. Retreat now. 

“Like all marriages, we have our ups and downs, and we’re going through a rough patch right now. At the moment, we’re separated,” he says on the show, scheduled to air May 9.

Beatie, 38,  also revealed he had undergone a final female-to-male gender reassignment surgery, but his wife hadn’t been privy to that. Op! “Nancy hasn’t seen the new me yet,” Beatie says.

Just months after he gave birth to a daughter, Beatie told Barbara Walters he was pregnant again. You mad, Kim Zolciak? In 2009 Beatie and wife Nancy welcomed a healthy boy into the world.

      I respect people’s right to label themselves how they see fit. If he identifies as a man, but has female parts. Then he has every right to be labled a pregnant man. Period.
