Actress Gabrielle Union has been tapped to star in ‘Single Black Female’, BET’s hour long pilot from Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, the husband-and-wife duo behind the cable network’s hit comedy series The Game.
Written by Brock Akil, ‘Single Black Female’ chronicles the work, family and social life of an Atlanta-based young African American woman responsible for hosting a 24-hour cable news network similar to Anderson Cooper 360.
A network spokesperson says that the show is “an opportunity to explore the life of a statistic often reported but never explored.” Let’s hope that just doesn’t include hood rat shit. Tasha Mack is doing a fine job.

‘Single Black Female’ is the first to fall under the mega production pact Akil Productions signed with BET back in May. In addition to producing alongside his wife, Salim will direct.
