Through a publicist who represents the couple, Gloria Govan denied allegations by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department that her fiance Matt Barnes made her face go hard in the paint with his fists of fury on Wednesday.

“Any accusation of domestic violence are false. My fiancé, Matt Barnes, has never physically abused me or my family.”

She reportedly had visible injuries when police arrived after an aborted 911 call, but the fact she is taking Barnes’ side will likely work in his favor when he’s arraigned on Sep. 13.
