Kimora Lee Simmons announced via twitter last night that she’s leaving her role as creative director of Baby Phat, Celebrity Twitter News reports.

Simmons helped get the company off the ground 14 years ago with then-husband Russell Simmons. She became its public face and best promoter. She starred in various reality shows that revolved around her role as the company’s head and was regularly featured in its ad campaigns. And from the tone of her tweets, she didn’t make the decision to leave of her own volition.

In fact, it seems, the Kellwood Company, which has owned Baby Phat and its sister brand Phat Farm for seven years, has pushed her out. (source)
