Two times!

Before I proceed throwing The Barbadian under the bus, I must profess my fandom for the photographer of her album cover, Ellen Von Unwerth. Her style combines 1920’s glamour with grunge, resulting in a mostly black and white photography and sometimes saturated, bright colors. If you are unfamiliar with her work, she has done album photography for Janet Jackson [The Velvet Rope] and Christina Aguilera [Back to Basics]. She has also done GIANT magazine cover shoots of Beyonce and Rihanna. I have prints of her work and two table books from her collection.

Now back to work: The Barbadian leaked [emailed the blogs] her album cover for her upcoming LP, Rated R, that is set to be released on November 23. Looking “edgy” and “tough” she covers her eye [DID RABID BEAVER BREAK HIS RESTRAINING ORDER?!] and give the kids ALL ATTITUDE. Someone needs to tell her just because she takes her lunch break at Barnes and Nobles and scours the Vogue Paris fall fashion issue and tear out the good pictures for “inspiration” does not a fashion model make.
