laraye6 Cover To Cover: LisaRaye For Rolling Out Magazine

LisaRaye has been keeping  her name semi-relevant in industry circles through her friendship with Lil’ Kim and most recently a rumored romantic relationship with Rev. Al Sharpton. How dreadful.

Her efforts must be working since Rolling Out Magazine spoke with the former first lady of Turks and Caicos about her plans to return to the Hollywood workforce in the aftermath of her very public divorce and a range of other topics, including the Thug Misses herself.

Her decision to avoid discussions of light-skinned vs. dark-skinned
“I don’t get into issues of light-skinned/dark-skinned, because to me all black is beautiful. We are the only race that comes in multiple colors, and I love it. So what we need to do as a race, as women and as sisters is come together. I bleed just like you do.”

Her thoughts on the disparaging remarks made by rapper Khia

“Khia? Khia Who? And what do I care about any of that? If I wasn’t hot enough to still have people talking about me, they wouldn’t be saying anything. So I must be relevant to them and to her. “

Her belief that her public divorce can eventually help others

“I think the only way you can encourage people is through your experiences, your pains and your joys. That’s what I am working to do with my situation.”
