I Think I’ll Pass

What’s up ya’ll? Kid Fury, here. Here is a taste of just how slow/wack news is today.
Rapper Young Jeezy is making his feature film debut in rapper-turned-filmmaker Ice Cube’s latest comedy “Janky Promoters,” which is currently in production.
The Dimension Films project revolves around a pair of shady concert promoters (played by Ice Cube and Mike Epps) in over their heads. Young Jeezy plays the hip-hop artist at the center of the action.
Marcus Raboy (”Friday After Next”) is directing from a screenplay by Ice Cube. They previously worked together on 2002’s “Friday After Next.” [ source ]
First of all, any film with the word “janky” in the title should be straight-to-DVD with a BET BlackBuster premiere, automatically. Now, I believe that if Ice Cube is serious about this whole filmmaking thing, he is going to have to start expanding outside of the “two broke Negroes get into ghetto shenanagins” gimmick. It might get the bootleggers some new rims and a week’s worth or Quarter Pounders, but it is tired.
Just a thought.
