Jay-Z cleverly answered his Glastonbury critics on Saturday by opening his headlining set with a cover of Oasis’ brit-pop smash, Wonderwall. With a prop electric guitar in hand, Jay-Z made his best effort at singing along to the tune before kicking into a blistering version of 99 Problems.
The gesture was a wink in Noel Gallagher’s direction, who was outspoken about his dismay that that an American hip-hop artist would be invited to headline the traditionally rock-oriented UK festival. [source]
